If you need help or need to talk with someone, please call Gen MacKenzie, 244-7313 Ted Fletcher, 266-8415     From the Wardens: Bishop Brown has requested that churches continue their online services during June, even though the CDC now permits in person worship services. We all miss worshiping together "in person" at St. Andrew and St. John. Hopefully, we will be together again in July!   Worship services for June will continue online rotation between the MDI Episcopal Churches. This includes the Thursday Evening Prayer Service. As you may be aware, Rev. Stephen Muncie has conducted Zoom bible studies on Wednesdays mornings. A session on 1 Samuel will begin next week.   At the May 17th Vestry Meeting, the Nominating Committee presented the slate of nominees. They are: Pamela Hattem—1 year vestry term (filling a vacancy); Edie Stanwood—2nd vestry term; Ted Fletcher—2nd term Junior Warden; Rita Redfield—Clerk; Paul Haertel—Treasurer; Rita Redfield—Representative to Annual Convention; and Bob Stanwood—Representative to the Annual Convention. Liz Erickson will continue with the FIC as Assistant Treasurer. One vestry position remains open.   Our Annual Meeting will be June 29th at 4 PM on Zoom. The agenda includes the following: 1. Approval of June 2019 minutes; 2. Election of Vestry members and representatives to the Annual Convention; 3. Approval of Annual Reports.   In order to conduct the Annual Meeting a quorum of 20 is required. Please plan to attend. The Annual Report will be available both online and at the church. More information will be available for accessing the Annual Meeting on Zoom.   For many of us, this has been a time to reflect on our lives. It has been a quiet time to examine what is important to us and to those we love. May God guide you. John Burton's wonderful, insightful, sermon last Sunday, May 24th, put me in mind of this Emily Dickinson poem – one of her "gorgeous nothings:"   The Brain—is wider than the Sky— For—put them side by side— The one the other will contain With ease—and you—beside—   The Brain is deeper than the sea— For—hold them—Blue to Blue— The one the other will absorb— As sponges—Buckets—do—   The Brain is just the weight of God— For—Heft them—Pound for Pound— And they will differ—if they do— As Syllable from Sound—   Emily Dickinson, c. 1862 [1]   Far be for me to endorse or not to endorse Dickinson's Transcendentalism, lest I invite further ecclesiastical discipline – yet again, but you might seek out Bill Hawley's wonderful settings of some of Dickinson's poem here: https://www.williamhawley.net/   When we "re-gather," we are all going to have to find new ways to bring God's creative generosity to the world around us. Stephen Muncie is conducting a Zoom Bible Study on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a.m.  He will be using the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) translation of the Bible but you may use any translation you have on hand.
