Thank you all for your support | | From the Diocese of Maine As a Parish of the Diocese of Maine, we are part of a church family that extends from Kittery to Fort Kent, and connects us to the rest of the Episcopal Church and the worldwide Anglican Communion. We share ministry with our Bishop and with every worshipping community. If you are not subscribed to the Diocesan twice monthly email newsletter, the DioLog, please click [here] to subscribe. If you are subscribed, don't forget to open it and read it every time! There is a lot going on in every corner of the Diocese, and you wouldn't want to miss anything. You are invited to a special worship service at the Ocean Park Temple on Sunday, June 23 at 10:30 a.m. with guest preacher, the Most Rev. Michael Curry, Presiding Bishop of The Episcopal Church. Bishop Curry is excited to be in Maine with us to share the good news of Jesus Christ with everyone not just Episcopalians but people of all faiths and even those who are "just looking". The Temple at Orchard Park is a historic, interdenominational space open only during the summer months. We are thrilled that Bishop Curry is the first preacher for the 2019 season. Remember how Bishop Curry captivated the world with his words at the Royal Wedding last year? Well, this will be an extraordinary opportunity to hear Bishop Curry preach in his inimitable style. Bishop Curry is quick to say it is not about him. Rather, it is the message itself. "The God who loves us into being and redeems us envisions more for us than we can imagine. Our call, in faith and hope, is to live in to that dream by following in the footsteps of Jesus - not just in our heads, but with our hearts, and with our feet." If you cannot join us, you will be able to see the sermon via live stream or a recorded version on the Diocese of Maine website. And, in case you don't already know, Bishop Curry will be back with us in Bangor, Maine on 2 May 2019 to help us celebrate the Bicentennial (200th) Anniversary of the Episcopal Diocese in Maine. | | MDI+ Episcopal Churches: For the joint service at St. Saviour's on Sunday, June 9, which happens to fall on the Feast of Pentecost, singers from all the parishes on the island are invited to join together for the anthem "Christ sends the Spirit" by Richard Proulx. All are welcome. We will rehearse the anthem on Thursday evening June 6, starting at 6:30 in the Parish Hall at St. Saviour's, and again on Sunday morning the 9th at 9:00 in the church. Please contact Dr. Daniel Pyle (email <music@stsaviours.me>) to get copies of the music. Confidential Prayer Chain: Unlike our published prayer lists, prayer requests that come into the Prayer Chain remain private to the prayer chain itself, which will pray devotedly for one week unless an updated request is made. If you'd like to know more about this or our Pastoral Care Team, please contact our office administrators or Mother Kathleen. | | Community: The Alcyon Center is a place of contemplation and peace, offering a variety of programs including quiet days, a gathering of women to discuss various topics through poetry, personal experiences (Soul Friends), a monthly quiet day and a weekly study of the Gospel for the coming Sunday.
