Pastoral Care
Holy Communion: If you are unable to attend an in-person worship service and would like Holy Communion brought to you, please contact the church office (contact information is at the bottom of this email). We will arrange a time for the clergy or Eucharistic Visitors to bring the Sacrament to your home or hospital bedside.

Hospital Visits: If you or a loved one is in the hospital, please let Mother Holly know. She is glad to come visit you in the hospital or call you during your stay.
REMEMBERING THE PEOPLE OF HAITI
We remember the people of Haiti as they recover from the devastating 7.2 magnitude earthquake on August 14. The Episcopal Church has a long presence in Haiti and the Diocese of Haiti with over 92,000 members is the largest diocese in the Episcopal Church. Over 1,400 people have died, over 25 health clinics have been destroyed, and Tropical Storm Grace has brought torrential rains, flooding, and landslides, which have made rescue and relief efforts more challenging. If you wish to assist the people of Haiti, please visit the website of Episcopal Relief and Development: episcopalrelief.org
A PRAYER FROM THE PRESIDING BISHOP ON AFGHANISTAN:

Eternal God, hear our prayer for the peoples of Afghanistan. There is a profound humanitarian crisis. Countless people, mostly women and children, are now fleeing and vulnerable. The lives of many are now endangered. The hopes of many are forgone. Send your Spirit, Lord, to rally the resolve of the nations of the earth to find pathways to save human lives, protect human rights, and to resolve the hardships of those seeking refuge, asylum, and safety. Hear our prayer for the peoples of Afghanistan. This we pray as followers of Jesus, the Prince of Peace. Amen.

The Most Rev. Michael Bruce Curry
Presiding Bishop and Primate
The Episcopal Church

NOTE: For the many people who have asked how they can support The Episcopal Church's efforts to resettle and provide direct assistance to Afghans seeking special immigrant visas, please visit episcopalmigrationministries.org/give.

Bells Expert to Visit St. Saviour's:
All Are Welcome

On Wednesday 1 September, Bob Verdin of The Verdin Company (a bell-foundry based in Cincinnati since 1842) will be visiting St. Saviour's at 7:00 pm. The bells have not been ringing this summer due to their condition and needed maintenance in order to be played safely.

He will be speaking to our Vestry and any interested church-members, discussing how bells are made, mounted, and maintained, and the specific conditions and needs of our bells.

This is a great opportunity to find out just what we have — a marvelous ring of bells, which may be unique in Hancock County — and how we might care for what has been placed in our trust.

Please let us know if you might want to attend, because it will be helpful to have an idea how many people will be there and where we might hold the meeting most safely. You can email Daniel Pyle by clicking here to RSVP.

One can learn more about the Verdin Company, you can go on the web to https://www.verdin.com/.

AND, AS ALWAYS . . .
Support Your Church
To facilitate stewardship, the Diocese of Maine has launched an online giving resource at no charge to the parishes. The Diocese will transfer the funds you give to your church or summer chapel using this online payment system. Simply select your church and set up your one-time or recurring gift or establish automatic weekly or monthly donations to the parish, either charged to your credit card or to your personal checking or savings account. You can also name your gift in memory or honor of someone through this site in the memo section. Congregation names begin with their town; chapels begin with "Chapel" followed by town and chapel name. Click here to visit the online giving portal of the Diocese.

As always, the church accepts other forms of donations. Contact the church office if you would like to request pledge envelopes for the future.
