From the Wardens:
The Vestry met Thursday, May 19th to discuss worship services for June and July. Given the current risks associated with Covid-19, it was decided that St. Andrew and St. John would continue with the online partnership worship services. In this week's Town Hall Zoom Meeting, Bishop Brown stated that it may be possible to have an outside July Picnic Eucharist with individuals supplying their own bread and wine. Meanwhile, he has advised continuing with the Prayer Service.

The Annual Meeting is in June. We are discussing the various ways in which we can comply with our By-Laws. It requires the election of Vestry members, Annual Convention representatives, Treasurer and Clerk.  We are in conversation with the Diocese. You will be kept informed once we have made a decision.

These days many of us may be feeling powerless at times and unable to exercise control over our lives. May God's love and presence touch us during these moments.

Happy Spring!

Gen MacKenzie, Senior Warden
Ted Fletcher, Junior Warden

At St. John's

Vestry minutes – April 19, 2020
Present were: Gen Mackenzie, Michael Shook, Michael DaCosta, Ted Fletcher, Linda Lewis, Liz Erickson, Rita Redfield. Edie Stanwood joined the meeting at 1:30.

The meeting was opened by Gen at 1:00 PM with a prayer by Michael DaCosta.

Rita Redfield reported that the phone calls to members and friends of St. Andrew and St. John were well received. A new list will be prepared to address those who would like to be contacted in the future and frequency of the calls.

Treasurer, Liz Erickson reported that the FIC (Finance Investment Committee) had met. She said that Investment income is down, and that she has been in touch with the Diocese regarding the CARES Act which may help supplement payroll for employees. A summary of March finances is attached to the minutes.

It was moved by Michael DaCosta and seconded by Linda Lewis, that, "St. Andrew and St. John open a Zoom account for use by the Vestry officers, the church administrator, and other church related groups". Following discussion it passed unanimously. Liz and Gen will work with Administrator Michele Daley to determine the type of account.

The Food Pantry report is attached. A request was made by Dean Henry to allow the Food Pantry to distribute food vouchers through June. A motion to that effect was made by Michael DaCosta and second by Michael Shook. It passed unanimously.

Junior Warden Ted Fletcher reported that he had requested Terri Cobb to continue to clean St. John and to clean St. Andrew before it is open.

Senior Warden Gen Mackenzie reported that the June tag sale at St. Andrew will be put off to a later date. St. Andrew will remain locked and donations are not being received until the quarantine has ended.

Michele will work in a locked office on Monday and Thursday and work at home on Tuesday.

The Wardens of the Partnership will meet soon to determine how to move forward with worship services. St. John will prepare the April combine service for view on You Tube.

The next meeting, probably via zoom, will be held on May 17 at 9:00 AM.

Gen closed the meeting with prayer at 1:45.

Faithfully submitted,
Rita Redfield, clerk

Westside Food Pantry

Dear friends,
Our "Special" May Distribution is in the books.  The word of our extended season seemed to get out for the most part.  And, we were blessed with another good day for our two-window operations--sunny!  Thank you to everyone who made this extra distribution possible: our anonymous donor, you who wrote all the vouchers in advance, and our "inside" and "outside" volunteers to carry out our safe protocol.  Special thanks go to Sunday's volunteers: Barbara Campbell, Patsy Fogarty, Ed Fogarty, and Dean Henry.

Here are the May statistics to tell their story:  $16,380 worth of vouchers distributed, 252 adults and 71 children served from 190 households.  We registered 4 new households comprised of 7 new or returning neighbors.  Most of the unclaimed vouchers for May were the same neighbors as missed the April distribution which leads me to believe if you didn't pick up your vouchers in April, you likely did not know of the May distribution.  If the economy remains weak after the summer season, then I would expect to see more of our neighbors pinched financially, and requests for help likely to increase.

I hope that you feel as I do--we are doing a good job in responding to the virus emergency thanks to the generosity of our donors.

Enjoy the beautiful spring weather and stay safe.
My best,
Dean
