At St. John's 
Images of St. Andrew by the Lake and St. John the Divine are available for sale ($15 each) in the church office. These are Cat's Meow wooden figures of both churches. If you have any questions, please see Michele.
Meditation on Tuesdays at 4:00 at St. John's. Please join us for 30 minutes of shared silence and "prayer of the heart," an ancient meditative practice of the Christian tradition. All are welcome! We meditate sitting on chairs, though if you prefer to sit on the floor, feel free to bring a mat or cushion.
Westside Food Pantry
The Bar Harbor Congregational Church will once again provide Thanksgiving Food Baskets for our neighbors on the west side of MDI. We registered 75 of our neighbors last Sunday and expect 25-50 more to register on the 17th. The project requires some logistical help which you have in the past been good to provide. Here's what we need: Vehicles and drivers to pick-up baskets in Bar Harbor, Monday, November 25, at approximately 12:30 PM. The food is assembled in paper grocery bags and boxes for our neighbors. These vehicles are loaded at the BH Congregational Church and driven back to the Southwest Harbor Fire Station for unloading. If you are available to help this way and willing, please give me your name, phone number, and type of vehicle. I will call and verify that I need your vehicle before the 25th. Helpers to distribute the baskets at the SWH Fire Station on Tuesday, November 26, 9:30 AM to Noon. This work involves matching the neighbors with their food basket and meat voucher, and perhaps assist with carrying the food to their cars. If you would like to volunteer to help out this way, send an e-mail to: westsidefoodpantry@gmail.com with your name and phone number so that I can call and verify your availability. Thanks for your attention to this request. It's a good way to get into the Thanksgiving holiday spirit. Dean Henry
The distribution Sundays are as follows: November 17, December 1 and 15, January 5 and 19, February 2 and 16, March 1 and 15, April 5 and 19. The first Sunday distribution hours are 12 noon to 2 PM, the second Sunday hour is 12 noon to 1 PM. Distribution will be held in Harbor House.

A Pilgrimage for the Episcopal Diocese of Maine Dear Friends, Will you join me for a pilgrimage in England after Easter -- April 15-27, 2020? A neighbor in Portland asked me, "so, is the Episcopal Church the same as the Church of England?" "Well, "I said, "yes and no." So I proceeded to explain the similarities and differences. She said, "Oh, so they're like the mother ship." It's probably not the way I would have put it, but you know something? It fits. A tour through England's many cathedrals will take on a quality of vacation, and in one sense it will be a holiday. Yet in another way this will be much more than a vacation, you will return from this pilgrimage with a keen knowledge of our history, and I hope, a stronger sense of your faith in Jesus Christ. Please prayerfully consider joining this journey designed to foster a deeper relationship with God by visiting and praying at holy places, connecting with old friends, and making new ones, and discovering for the first time (or once again) the depths of the English church's spirituality and history. I will serve as our chaplain, and local guides will accompany us at the various sites. We will be blessed to pray as a pilgrimage community along the way, and to be a learning community, too. Fair will benefit THAW (the Heating and Warmth Fund of Hancock County of DCP) and Comfort Cases (a program that gives backpacks full of needed personal and comforting items to children going into the foster care program).

The Alcyon Center is a place of contemplation and peace, offering a variety of programs including quiet days, a gathering of women to discuss various topics through poetry, personal experiences (Soul Friends), a monthly quiet day and a weekly study of the Gospel for the coming Sunday.
