Suggestions help us improve communication!   Joan Bromage had suggested that we put copies of Vestry meeting minutes and Net Tenders at church where they could be easily accessible.  In response to her suggestion, there are now two notebooks in the Common Room - one for 2014 Vestry Meeting Minutes and another for Net Tender issues. We ask that you read the contents of the notebooks in the Common Room and refrain from removing pages from the notebooks. The Vestry notebook will be updated after meeting minutes are approved; the Net Tender notebook will be updated when a new issue is published. At present, there are minutes for the February and March 2014 Vestry meetings (no meeting in January, the April minutes have yet to be approved.)   And there are Net Tender issues from February, March, April and May this year (the Net Tender is not published in January). Our thanks to Joan for her suggestion!

Community Events

A Place at the Table – On May 4th at 1:00 p.m. the Bar Harbor Food Pantry and Reel Pizza will present, A Place at the Table, a documentary that looks at hunger here in America and examines the systems that allow so many families to live without food access in a country with so much abundance. We invite you to watch this film and stay afterward to meet some of our local hunger relief advocates to find out about resources that exist here, how they work and how you can help. The doors open at 12:30.  Film starts at 1pm (1hr 40min) with a 30-45 minute community discussion to follow. There is a suggested donation of $5 per person or non-perishable food items at the door. All donations will go to the Bar Harbor Food Pantry.
