9:00 Forums

September 29: Open budget forum—the FIC will make a brief presentation on the current (2013) budget, and all will be invited to discuss mission and budget priorities for next year.

October 6: Godly Play for Adults will feature a demonstration of Godly Play, the stories we share with our youngest during worship, before they return to the congregation for the celebration of the Eucharist.  Come and join us as Floy Ervin and Jayne Ashworth talk about the program and share one of the stories with you.

St. John:

A memorial service for Lurline Frances Soukup Tuttle will be on Saturday, September 28, at 1:30 p.m. at St. John’s.

 

Holiday Reminder: If you would like to provide a holiday gift for Sharon Dayana Salazar, our sponsored child in Costa Rica, you may do so by donating additional money to Children’s Inc. no later than October 15. There is no minimum or maximum amount restriction for these contributions and the needs of the child we sponsor will be met first and foremost. Due to the Department of Customs and Immigration, and difficulty in delivery, packages are discouraged. Contact the church office for more information.

 

Raffle--Seal Cove artist, Judy Taylor has donated a signed, original watercolor painting titled "View from Flying Mountain" for the Westside Food Pantry raffle.  The painting is matted and framed with archival glass.  Raffle tickets are sold every Friday at the Farmers' Market or from Susan Buell anytime!  Tickets are $5.00 each and 6/$25.00.

 

St. Saviour’s

Seasonal Worker Evening Prayer service with songs of praise continue at 7:00 p.m. on Sundays, October 6 and 20. All are welcome.

 

St. Mary and Jude

Beginning this Sunday, September 29, there will be only one service at 9:00 am at St. Mary's by the Sea.

 

Church of Our Father:

Thrift shop is open Wednesdays 3:30 – 6:30 pm and Saturdays 9 – 12 noon.  They are in need good clean men’s and children’s clothing. Call their office at 288-4849 if you have questions.

 

Holy Eucharist is celebrated on Wednesday mornings at 8:00 followed by a light breakfast.

 

Westside Food Pantry

Volunteer meeting, Tuesday, October 15, 6:30 pm, St. John’s. Susan Buell and Dean Henry will report on the upcoming distribution season, the pantry’s financial position, and hold a general discussion on operations.  If you have family or friends who would be willing to serve on this committee, please let Susan or Dean know and they will be happy to invite them to the meeting.  We need a few new members to help carry on this important sharing.
