Community News

The Alzheimer’s Day program at the Strauss Center in Southwest Harbor has invited the Saint John’s community and friends to sing familiar Christmas songs and carols with the people there on Friday, December 14th beginning at 1:00 p.m. and ending at about 2:00 p.m. Bill Voorhies will accompany the singing. Please ask others to join in -- no singing experience is necessary! And, please let Susan Buell (scovino@prexar.com) know if you will be able to be there.

The Sea Coast Mission once again welcomes the community to our annual Advent Vespers Service on Sunday, December 9th at 4:30pm at the Mission's Colket center.  The liturgy is a beautiful, melodic, contemporary (and participatory) evening prayer setting composed by Marty Haugen.  Local cantors and musicians will lead, and there is no cost to attend.

Prayer for the Community of St. Andrew & St. John

Gracious God, we offer thanks for our parish, for your inspiration, and for the many generous open hearts whose donations will bring accessibility to all at St. John’s. Guide us all as the planned expansion of the facilities comes to reality. We thank you for the various trades and skills of those who work on the addition. Protect and guide them as they labor, that they may take pride in their accomplishments. Inspire us to share faithfully the love that you have revealed to us through the ministry and sacrifice of your son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
