MDI Episcopal Church Events
Lenten Study with Debbie Little Wyman—Every Thursday 1-2 pm through the season of Lent, we welcome all to a time of short reading, silent meditation, and reflection. We will use Wondrous Encounters: Readings for Lent, by Richard Rohr, Franciscan priest and director of the Center for Action and Contemplation. Copies are available, and participants are welcome to take one home for use between meetings. Please come and go as you are able.
ST. SAVIOUR’S:
On Sunday, April 1, at 3:00 pm the St. Saviour’s Festival Choir will present Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem. This exquisite work will be accompanied by a small orchestra and organ. Solos will be performed by Marsha Lyons, soprano, and Geoffrey Knowles, baritone. The program will begin with a movement for strings from Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 6 and will also include a duet from Bach’s cantata Wachet Auf featuring Amy Munson, soprano, and Paul Bartels, bass. The choir is directed by Julia Morris-Myers, organist and choirmaster at St. Saviour’s. Fauré completed the Requiem in 1888, shortly after the death of his father, and it was first performed at the Church of the Madeleine in

It's Easter Dinner Basket Time!
Please mark your calendars now to help with the Community Easter Dinner Basket Project. Items needed: canned hams, canned green vegetables, canned fruit or fruit cocktail, canned carrots, canned or boxed potatoes, cranberry sauce, chicken broth, canned or packaged gravy, jello, cake mix and frosting, chocolate bunnies. The following schedule has tentatively been set for organizing the baskets:
· Tuesday, April 3, 8:30 am -- set up tables and bring up canned goods
· Wednesday, April 4, 9:00 am -- organize Easter Baskets/receive & organize dry goods
· Thursday, April 5, 3:00 pm -- pack baskets
· Friday, April 6, 12 noon -- fill baskets with carrots and potatoes
· Saturday, April 7, 10-11 am -- Easter Basket pick-up
