Read along with Bishop Steve: Bishop Steve is starting a Book Club for members of the Diocese.  The first book is Brian McLaren's "Everything Must Change." To learn more about the book and to participate, simply visit the Bishop's Book Group page on his blog at the link www.bishopstephen.wordpress.com.  Post your insights, impressions and opinions in the comments section and let the discussion begin. In Advent, Bishop Steve will host a one hour live on-line chat about the book at: http://drop.io/bishopsbookclub.  No registration or special know-how required to participate.

Be an Angel: The Westside Food Pantry is organizing Christmas Dinners in cooperation with the Southwest Harbor Food Mart.  They have also signed up their client’s children for the Angel Tree. This heartwarming project, sponsored by the First National Bank, has become a Westside holiday tradition.  Please stop at the Main Street branch of “The First” to choose a name (and become someone’s Angel).

The Quietside Nativity: Friday, December 18th, 5:00-8:00 p.m. Music and refreshment available inside the church. Needed: angels, shepherds, Mary, Joseph, etc. and volunteers to help with costumes and food. Contact church office if interested.

Christmas Wreaths: If you would like to donate in memory of or in honor of a loved one this year, please sign up in the undercroft after the service. Note on your check “Christmas Flowers”. Names will be printed in the Christmas Eve bulletin.

Halfway There: Wednesday, December 16th, 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Sips in Southwest Harbor. Original folk, blues and jazz played by Jim Vekasi, Leonore Hildebrandt, and Brian Dyer Stewart.
