EVENTS & NEWS
Sunday Services, November 16th: 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. Holy Eucharist at St. John's in Southwest Harbor. Vesta Kowalski will be our celebrant and preacher, while Fr. Richard is taking part in the Credo program.
Following the 10 a.m. service, we will be treated to a ten to fifteen minute piano recital by Stephen Sampson. A professional pianist, he has played many times for Episcopal church services, and will play for us selections from J.S. Bach. Stephen lives in Town Hill and works at Jackson Lab. Thanks to Bill Voorhies for inviting him to play.
Lectionary readings for November 16th: Zephaniah 1:7, 12-18; Psalm 123; I Thessalonians 5:1-11; Matthew 25:14-30
Sunday School: Sundays during the 10:00 service in the undercroft, with the Godly Play lessons.
Sunday Forums at 9:00 a.m. in the Undercroft: November 16 & 23: Vesta Kowalski, Faith Caring for Our Island Earth, discussions based on a book by Nancy Roth (Grounded in Love: Ecology, Faith, and Action.)
Food Pantry is open this Sunday, November 16, at Harbor House from noon to 1 p.m.

Vestry Meeting Thursday, November 20, 6 p.m. Patsy Fogarty, Stewardship Chair, asks any Vestry members available to come at 5 p.m. to help write thank you notes.

Baked Bean and Pie Supper: The Supper raised about $900 for the Food Pantry! Thanks to Dianne MacMullan, her amazing team, and all who showed their support.
Craft and Food Sale: Saturday, November 29th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Contact Mary Mitchell (244-9951) to help.
Food Pantry Gift Cards: For every $10 donation to the Food Pantry, you are entitled to an attractive gift card suitable for Christmas giving, hostess gifts, stocking stuffers, etc. The cards are available on Sunday mornings, in the office and at the craft fair on November 29th. Give a gift that helps our island neighbors through this really tough winter.
Quietside Nativity, a community project, will be displayed outside at St. John's throughout the Advent season with a "live nativity" prior to Christmas. Volunteers are needed for: carpentry, painting, sewing (contact Mary Mitchell), choir development, refreshments, and coordination. To help or for more information, call Bruce Carlson at 244-5003.
