If you are interested in being a lay leader of Morning Prayer or becoming a lay preacher on Sundays,
please contact Mother Holly and the parish administrator of your church.

On Wednesdays
at Church of Our Father at 8 am

Using the readings appointed for the day in the Book of Common Prayer, we will have a service of Morning Prayer or Holy Eucharist every other week. The next service of Holy Eucharist on Wednesday will be July 28 with the Rev. Holly Hoffmann.

Assisting at Services

Pastoral Care
Holy Communion: If you are unable to attend an in-person worship service and would like Holy Communion brought to you, please contact the church office (contact information is at the bottom of this email). We will arrange a time for the clergy or Eucharistic Visitors to bring the Sacrament to your home or hospital bedside.

Hospital Visits: If you or a loved one is in the hospital, please let Mother Holly know. She is glad to come visit you in the hospital or call you during your stay.
IMPORTANT NEWS and DATES!
Please join us for the Celebration of New Ministry
with the Rev. Holly Hoffmann will be on Sunday, August 8 at 3 pm
at St. Saviour's as a part of Bishop Brown's official visit to MDI.
Newsletter articles are due next Monday!
There will be combined July / August Newsletters in the three parishes this time.  Monday, July 19, is the third Monday of July, which would normally be the deadline for the August newsletters. If you have something to submit, please send it to your parish Administrator as soon as you can.  Thank you!

If you are a staff or vestry member, a Eucharistic visitor, or want to work with children and youth in the church, you need to complete Safe Church training.

If you haven't been trained in the last four years, please re-do it. Click here to visit the diocesan website for information and links to the two online training sites.  Be sure to read through the requirements carefully, completing both Part A and Part B.  When you have finished either Part A or Part B, be sure to print 2 copies of your certificate - a copy for the church office and a copy for your own records.

These certificates are due to your parish office by July 15. One of the bishop's tasks when he is on an official visit is to check that each parish's Safe Church Training is up to date. He will do that during his visit here in August.

Improvements are underway to the on-line Diocesan training system, and in order to accomplish them, access to Safe Church "Part A " online courses will be suspended beginning July 12, until September. If you need to reprint your certificate, please do so by logging in by clicking here before the system shuts down on July 12.

Training for "Part B" of diocesan Safe Church requirements is still available and you are encouraged to complete the State of Maine Online Mandated Reporting Course found by clicking here.

Stay tuned for further announcements, and if you have questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to be in touch with Canon Barbara Martin.

Thank you in advance.  Mother Holly is available for pastoral support while completing the training, if you find that it would be helpful.
Bishop Brown makes his official visit to the Episcopal churches on MDI August 4-9. During this time there will be many parish and island-wide events, including a Celebration of New Ministry with Mother Holly on Sunday, August 8 at 3 pm. If you would like to sing in the special, island-wide Episcopal choir for this event, please contact Dr. Daniel Pyle.

Mother Regina Christianson and the Rev. Dr. Jenny Reece are gathering those who have or would like to learn a centering prayer practice every Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Oranbega Retreat Center in Orland, Maine, starting on Friday, June 18. Beginners are always welcome, as are the more experienced, so long as they have "beginner's mind"!  If you are interested please call or email Jenny and she will give you directions to Oranbega. 207-952-2363.

Support the Church
To facilitate stewardship, the Diocese of Maine has launched an online giving resource at no charge to the parishes. The Diocese will transfer the funds you give to your church or summer chapel using this online payment system. Simply select your church and set up your one-time or recurring gift or establish automatic weekly or monthly donations to the parish, either charged to your credit card or to your personal checking or savings account. You can also name your gift in memory or honor of someone through this site in the memo section.
Congregation names begin with their town; chapels begin with "Chapel" followed by town and chapel name. Click here to visit the online giving portal of the Diocese.

As always, the church accepts other forms of donations. Contact the church office if you would like to request pledge envelopes for the future.
