You are invited to attend church on Sundays at any of the Episcopal parishes, including St. Mary's (Holy Eucharist at 8 and 10 am) with the Rev. Stephen Muncie or at St. Jude's (Holy Eucharist at 10 am) with the Rev. Dr. William Hague.
Masks are required to protect the most vulnerable: younger children, the immunocompromised, and others who have not yet been vaccinated. Pre-registration and social distancing are not required.
Holy Communion will be offered in one-kind only (Bread).
Coffee hour will be held outdoors and canceled in poor weather.

Monday, July 19, is the third Monday of July, which would normally be the deadline for the August newsletters. If you have something to submit, please send it to your parish Administrator as soon as you can. Thank you! | | If you are a staff or vestry member, a Eucharistic visitor, or want to work with children and youth in the church, you need to complete Safe Church training. If you haven't been trained in the last four years, please re-do it. Click here to visit the diocesan website for information and links to the two online training sites. Be sure to read through the requirements carefully, completing both Part A and Part B. When you have finished either Part A or Part B, be sure to print 2 copies of your certificate - a copy for the church office and a copy for your own records. These certificates are due to your parish office by July 15. One of the bishop's tasks when he is on an official visit is to check that each parish's Safe Church Training is up to date. He will do that during his visit here in August. Improvements are underway to the on-line Diocesan training system, and in order to accomplish them, access to Safe Church "Part A " online courses will be suspended beginning July 12, until September. If you need to reprint your certificate, please do so by logging in by clicking here before the system shuts down on July 12.
Training for "Part B" of diocesan Safe Church requirements is still available and you are encouraged to complete the State of Maine Online Mandated Reporting Course found by clicking here.

Children's Faith Formation at Home on MDI

Pray, Play, Connect: A Fun and Prayerful Space for 6th-12th Graders across the Diocese
Summer registration is now open for Pray, Play, Connect LIVE! Click here to register! There are two more events in person: one each in July and August. Summer Finale Day for Youth, Individuals and Families, Sunday, August 29 at Camp Bishopswood
This day-long opportunity for youth will be paired with an opportunity for individuals and families to engage in faith formation while enjoying all camp has to offer. Contemplative Prayer: How About Adding a Group Contemplative Prayer experience to your spiritual life this summer?
Mother Regina Christianson and the Rev. Dr. Jenny Reece are gathering those who have or would like to learn a centering prayer practice every Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Oranbega Retreat Center in Orland, Maine, starting on Friday, June 18. Beginners are always welcome, as are the more experienced, so long as they have "beginner's mind"! - Communion will be distributed in one kind only (blessed bread). The full grace of the sacrament is received.
- People will be required to wear masks when gathered for worship indoors.
- Worship leaders who are vaccinated can unmask only when at the lectern or altar.
- Unvaccinated people must remain masked at all times.
- Anyone singing will be required to mask.
- People will not be required to mask when gathered for worship outdoors at St. John's.
- People will be required to wear masks when entering the church offices and buildings.
- Coffee hours and receptions may be held outdoors only and may only offer pre-poured beverages and "grab and go" foods like cookies or plated foods.
- Groups from outside the parish will be using the church buildings again and will be required to mask when indoors.
- Small groups from inside the parish are requested to talk to the Priest-in-Charge about masking, if all people in the group are known to be vaccinated.
- Buildings will be cleaned as before the pandemic. Frequent hand washing and hand sanitation will be encouraged, especially before receiving Communion.
