St. John:

 

Come Home for Supper: Save the date for the next Come Home for Supper gatherings! On April 28th, we will gather in small groups in each other's homes, sharing an organized pot luck meal, and, if past experience holds true, some lively conversation. Rita Redfield and Elaine Theriault will be providing more information about what you can do to help and to participate in the near future.

 

The second annual Downeast Spiritual Life Conference will be held at the Atlantic Oceanside Hotel and Conference Center August 23-34. The theme this year is Spirituality in Our Times: Embracing Diversity, Creating Community. St. John's will be heading up ad sales for the program. Volunteers are needed to call on businesses. If you own a business and are interested in placing an ad please let us know. Donations are also being accepted in any amount to support the conference. Donor's names will be listed in the program. They may be sent to the church office marked for the event. Community Events

On Easter Sunday, March 31st, The Atlantic Oceanside Hotel has committed to donate 10% of the sales from their Easter Buffet to the Fireside Coalition of the Maine Seacoast Mission to provide heating oil assistance to those in need in our area.  In addition, you can receive a 10% discount on the buffet if you bring your church bulletin. Reservations and information at 288-8402.

 

The next Musical Evening will be on Friday, April 5 at 7:00 p.m. Debbie Kiley will be our host (please contact Susan for directions) and we will be welcoming Marta Rieman and her a cappella group '4 Cryin' Out Loud'. Please remember to bring some finger food or a beverage to share.

 

"Best Spaghetti Supper Ever" — Saturday, April 6th, 5:30 at the Congregational Church on the High Road, SWH.  ALL proceeds will be donated to the food pantry. Neighbors at the Congregational Church are preparing and serving a great dinner.  Come for an evening of good food and community. More information:  Susan-scovino@prexar.com or 244-3124

 

The Women’s Health Center will host a Benefit Frock Swap at Pleasant Street Pilates on Wednesday, April 10th from 5:00 – 9:00 pm. Participants can bring up to 10 garments that they would like to swap. These need to be in good condition (something you would be willing to wear as is) and can include, shoes, outerwear, and even lingerie. There will be a $15 fee to participate, and you may drop off your 10 items and choose 10 to take. If you bring 5 items, you may take 5, etc. Drop off starts at 12 pm. Snacks and beverages included!

All proceeds will be used by the Women’s Health Center to improve the health of women in t

Down East Men's Fellowship Conference – Friday, April 5th at the Family Bible Church, Ellsworth.  Registration: 5:30 – 6:30 pm.  Conference starts at 6:45 pm.  Speaker: The Rev. Flash In The Pans Steel Band will hold a free concert on Sunday, April 21st at 3pm at the Ramada Inn - 215 High Street, Ellsworth. Bring your family and friends and a picnic chair, shake off the winter doldrums and dance your feet off during an afternoon of great entertainment by noted area steel band Flash in the Pans - always a hit wherever they perform! Refreshments available and parking is available at the back of the inn right near the event! Donations will be welcomed for Everybody Eats, a Free Community Meal which is open to the public every Monday from 3-6 pm in the Parish Hall of St. Dunstan’s Church, 134 State Street, Ellsworth. 

 

Have you ever dreamed of a Pilgrimage to the Holy Land?
