Quietside Fair at St. John’s, Saturday, July 14th: The four-day Harbor House Flamingo Festival begins on Friday, July 13th, followed on Saturday the 14th by the Flamingo Parade, which will lead the community to our Quietside Fair at St. John’s at 10 a.m.  Items are needed for the Plant Sale, Basket Raffle, Silent Auction, Handicrafts, Antique Boutique, Pies & Baked Goods, and the ubiquitous Treasure Trove.  This is a major fundraiser for our church and again, part of this year’s profit will go to the Hancock County Medical Mission.  Your volunteer help and contributions are always appreciated, and if you haven’t signed up yet to work, call Mary Mitchell (244- 9951).

St. Saviour’s:

Taizé service - 7pm on Thursday, June 21. The Taizé style of chant reflects both the simplicity of life of the abbey, and the community’s commitment to an all-embracing, ecumenical approach to ritual and prayer. The service moves gently, ebbing and flowing through its succession of chants, silent reflection, and the reading of scripture. Silence is key to the service, allowing you to be not only active in the voicing of your prayer, but contemplative in your openness to hear and experience the compassionate, forgiving Christ, whose image we see beckoning peace and reconciliation. Come experience another form of worship with members of the community.

St. Mary’s and St. Jude’s

Community Events:

Island Connections needs volunteers! If you are able to drive people, make friendly phone calls, or help at the office, whether it is often, seasonally, or infrequently, we need you.  Bar Harbor drivers to take people on short rides to appointments in town are particularly needed. Please call 288-4457 if you can help. Thank you.

Lost and Found: a pair of tortoise shell sun glasses were left in St. John’s sanctuary on Sunday, June 10th. They are currently in the shelf underneath the guest book at the rear of the sanctuary.

Prayer for the Community of St. Andrew & St. John

Gracious God, we offer thanks for our parish, for your inspiration, and for the many generous open hearts whose donations will bring accessibility to all at St. John’s. Guide us all as the planned expansion of the facilities comes to reality. We thank you for the various trades and skills of those who work on the addition. Protect and guide them as they labor, that they may take pride in their accomplishments. Inspire us to share faithfully the love that you have revealed to us through the ministry and sacrifice of your son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
