The Tremont Congregational Church is having their annual Blessing of the Fleet Saturday, June 26th at 3:00 P.M. at the Town Dock in Bernard. This is a time for our community to gather together and ask the Lord’s blessing for the protection and success of all who earn their livelihood from the sea; for the safety of the recreational boaters; and also for a time to remember those who have lost their lives at sea from our community. The Lioness will be providing food for purchase; there will be games for the children, demonstrations by the fire department, the Ellsworth Honor Guard to salute our departed with three rounds of rifle fire, Chris Gray our local distinguished bagpiper, the United States Coast Guard and their Color Guard, and the USCG Auxiliary. After the service all the boats of our harbor are invited to pass by the town dock to receive the blessing by water for their safety and success.
We give thanks for the life of Melvin VanWechel who died June 20th. Keep his wife Donna, daughter Pamela and son-in-law Richard in your prayers.
The church office will be open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30-2:30. If you have questions or need assistance at other times, please call Ted Fletcher (244-3115) or Ann Cox Halkett (288-5832).
