Carl Jung’s Map Of The Soul: William Bigelow, a fourth year candidate-in-training at the C.G. Jung Institute of Boston, will give a public talk entitled “Carl Jung’s Map of The Soul” on Wednesday, July 22nd at 5:00 p.m. in The Mellon Room of the Northeast Harbor Library. Admission is free. All are welcome.

 

St. Mary’s and St. Jude’s Summer Fair: Saturday, July 25th, from 10 AM until 1 PM.

 

A Simply Divine Luncheon: Sunday, July 26th, 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. – Celebrate “Garden Day” in style. Join us on the lawn at St. John the Divine. $12.50/person will benefit the St. John Victory Garden and Westside Food Pantry. Menu: Chicken salad with fresh herbs and edible flowers, beverage, and dessert. SOS: still needed - volunteers to help before, during, and after; monetary donations to defray the cost; flower tablecloths; unsprayed organic flowers (nasturtiums, daylilies); bakers and cooks (recipes provided). Prayer Shawl Ministry: This group will be meeting on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month in the Undercroft at 2:30. All knitters and crocheters are welcome. Next meeting is Tuesday, July 28th.

 

Anti Cancer – A New Way of Life: July 28th at 6:00 pm in Gates Auditorium at College of the Atlantic. David Servan-Schreiber will speak one night only. This event is sponsored by MDI Hospital in association with the Beth Wright Cancer Center. Tickets are $10 and reservations can be made at ext 1311 or by email to lynne.assaf@mdihospital.org.  Blending memoir with scientific evidence, it will challenge the way you think about cancer. David Servan-Schreiber, MD, PhD is a clinical professor of psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and cofounder of the Center for Integrative Medicine. He is a founding member of Doctors Without Borders USA and continues to work in international crisis intervention. His last book The Instinct to Heal has been translated into 28 languages.

 

Free Ice Cream!!!: Thursday, July 30th, will be an Ice Cream Social hosted by St Mary and St. Jude Episcopal Church, in front of the Great Harbor Museum on Main Street. There will be free cones and social gathering from 4-5 in the afternoon. All are welcome.

 

Concert: Sunday, August 9th at 5 p.m.  St. John's will host a concert in memory of Melba Wilson who died in February.  Melba was long time Executive Director of the Arcady Music Festival and the Center for Human Genetics.  Participants will include Arcady Festival performers and youth competition winners who are now pursuing professional musical careers.  You are encouraged to attend this varied and exciting program which will be followed by a reception. Children, Incorporated: Each week we pray for Sharon Dayana Salazar, the child we sponsor in Costa Rica, where she lives with her mother, grandmother and two brothers. $28 per month helps support Sharon through the La Milagrosa Welfare Center. There is a sign up sheet on the Outreach bulletin board in the undercroft. We still need sponsors for June, July, and August. Thank you for helping us meet this important commitment every month of the year.

 

Office Hours: This week the office will be open on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30-2:30.
