EVENTS & NEWS

Sunday Services, December 21st: Fourth Sunday in Advent, 10:00 a.m. Holy Eucharist at St. John’s in Southwest Harbor.

Lectionary readings for December 21st: Psalm 89:1-4, 19-26; 2 Samuel 7:1-11, 16; Romans 16:25-27; Luke 1:26-38

Sunday School: Sundays during the 10:00 service in the undercroft, with the Godly Play lessons.

Design and Construction Committee: Wednesday, December 17th at 5:00 p.m.

Advent Bible Study: Gospel of Mark, Wednesday, December 17th at 6:00 followed by Compline with Fr. Richard. New students welcome!

Food Pantry Gift Cards: For every $10 donation to the Food Pantry, you are entitled to an attractive gift card suitable for Christmas giving, hostess gifts, stocking stuffers, etc. The cards are available on Sunday mornings, in the office and at the craft fair on November 29th. Give a gift that helps our island neighbors through this really tough winter.

The Southwest Harbor Library is collecting food for the pantry throughout the month of December.

The Community Nativity will be in our church yard during Advent. On December 19-20 the wooden figures will be replaced with people from the community.

Christmas wreath donations: If you would like to donate in honor or in memory of a loved one, please sign up on the sheet in the back of the church; or you may mail your check marked Christmas Wreaths to the church office. Please consider honoring those you love at this wondrous time of year.

Epiphany Pageant: Sunday, January 4th. The script is available for your review at the back of the church. If you would like to participate as an actor, reader or dresser, please sign up on the sheet or talk with Susan Buell (244-3124) or Floy Ervin (244-4195).

Annual Meeting: Sunday, January 18 at 11:15 a.m. following the service. Reports are due in the office by January 8th.
