Taize Ecumenical Prayer Service: Sunday November 23rd at 5:00 p.m. at Somesville Union Meeting House, Somesville, Maine. The Acadia Taizé Community will hold an evening service of song, scripture and silence in the beloved tradition of Taizé, an ecumenical monastic community in France whose focus is cultivating world peace through prayer. Chant, a scripture reading, and meditative silence amid candle light are central to Taizé prayer. Bring a friend or come alone; your prayerful presence is always welcome. Come celebrate the true spirit of gratitude and the beginning of this blessed holiday season. For more information on this event: Call Gerry Gregersen – 244-3650. For more information on the Taizé Community, visit www.taize.fr/en
Christmas is coming: If you would like to adopt a child (or family) for Christmas through the Emmaus Center, please contact Rita Redfield at 244-4025. You may buy the gifts yourself or write a check and Rita will buy them.
The Essentials Pantry desperately needs your donation of diapers (any size) or money to purchase them--the demand is very high, but so is the cost. If you bring diapers, Ted & Joan will deliver them. Or you may send a check, payable to St. Elizabeth's Essentials Pantry, to Diocese of Maine, 143 State Street, Portland ME 04101 (mark Essentials Pantry on envelope.) Thanks!
