The Victory Garden is thriving and we are finding more sites for the distribution of produce. Please consider bringing some of your garden vegetables to add to our bounty. We are distributing on Wednesdays, so delivery to St. John's on Tuesday or Wednesday morning is ideal. Any questions—call Cass Wright at 244-5459.

Bishop's Blend Coffee--the perfect "wake up" for your summer guests and the family!  Or a great hostess present if you are visiting!  We have decaf too.  It's still in good supply in the basket in the undercroft, easily available on Sundays or when the office is open.  Price list is with the coffee; you may leave a check in the envelope in the basket, marking "coffee" in the memo line.

St. John’s Prayer Shawl Ministry: This hands-on ministry was started in 1998 by two Hartford seminary graduates. It combines caring for others and the ancient art of knitting/ crocheting into a ministry that reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace, as well as in celebration and joy. Shawls can be used for those undergoing medical procedures; as a comfort after a loss or in times of stress; during bereavement; prayer or meditation; commitment or marriage ceremonies; birthing, nursing a baby; bridal shower or wedding gift; during an illness and recovery; graduation, birthday, anniversary, ordination, holiday gifts; or...there are endless possibilities! How do I take Part in this Ministry? The actual knitting is very easy, the fellowship is rewarding and the impact on the recipient and, indeed all those who participate, truly adds another dimension to our lives. You can work on your project at home or at our group meeting on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month in the Undercroft from 2:30-4:00. The meeting is a wonderful opportunity to connect with each other and adds an important dimension to this ministry. Contact Evelyn Rowland (526-4438) for more info. Next meeting will be August 25th. Fr. Tardiff will bless the items already finished this Sunday, August 23rd.
