Westside Food Pantry Recital Series

Friday, March 27th, 6:30pm at St John’s -- Bar Harbor harpist Phoebe Durand is joined by Gouldsboro soprano Celeste Mittlehauser performing Celtic songs and pieces by Bach, Rossini, Mozart, Purcell, Donizetti, Hindemith.  Dianne McMullan and the Martha's will host a reception following the performance.  Suggested donation - $10.  ALL proceeds go to our food pantry.

FREE Movie and BYOD Night: Friday, March 27, 5:00 pm in the Parish Hall! Bring Your Own Dinner or snack, and a cushion for our chairs or your own comfy picnic chair if you like, as we watch “The Passion” and share great discussion and fellowship!  All are welcome, so bring a friend!

 

Contemplative Prayer Group meets for one hour at noon on Fridays to pray together in silence and to share resources and experiences from their prayer journeys. The hour will begin with gathering in silence, then the leader will share a resource or an insight about contemplative prayer, then there will be a time of silent prayer, and finally a short time to share our thoughts and experiences in group discussion. Everyone is invited to come to this

group.

Prayer Shawl Ministry: 10:00 a.m. on Thursdays.

 

Church of Our Father:

Stations of the Cross every Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. followed by soup, bread and a speaker.

 

MDI Episcopal Churches:

Men's Bible Study Group meets on a monthly basis. The group focuses on selected Bible readings and discuss how these passages affect our lives and our relationships with others. The group meets on the second Wednesday of every month and our next meeting will take place at 10:00 am on April 8, 2015 at St. Mary’s Chapel, Northeast Harbor. Meeting locations alter-nate among Church of our Father, St. Mary's, St. Saviour's and St. John’s Episcopal churches. 10th Annual Spring Fest Concert and Auction: The Emmaus Homeless Shelter of Ellsworth will be hold their 10th Annual Spring Fest Concert and Auction from 12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m on April 19 at the Ellsworth Elementary/Middle School with a delicious Irish meal and entertainment by the Celtic Maritime duo, Castlebay. 

As in previous years, there will be over 100 great Live and Silent auction items for attendees to bid on and new this year, a raffle table filled with even more wonderful prizes! Items up for bid so far include 4-one day passes into Disney World, 2 tickets to a Waterfront concert of your choice, the services of a professional style coach, a dental cleaning complete with exam and x-rays, and many gift certificates to local restaurants, food, original art, lodging, wellness, services, fun activities and much, much more! Tickets are available for $30 each or 2 for $50.  You can also purchase a table of 6 for $125.  Tickets are available at the shelter or by calling 667-3962.

The proceeds from this event support the Emmaus Shelter’s efforts to not only provide a safe haven for the homeless but also supports the various other programs we provide to those in need in our communities.  Please support this wonderful event and help us support others.

 

COFFEE’S ON! The Maine Sea Coast Mission cordially invites all MDI Senior Citizens to join them for Coffee, Conversation and Music the first and third Tuesdays of each month from 9:30 to 11:30 am at the Colket Center, 127 West Street, Bar Harbor.  It's an enjoyable gathering in a beautiful place. Next date is February 17th

Soup and Evening Prayer: gather with other island Episcopalians on Tuesday, March 24 at St. Mary’s in Northeast Harbor for a quiet, contemplative service of Evening Prayer at 4:30, followed by a light supper.  Everyone is welcome!

Local Solutions “Summer of Fun” fund raiser: Tuesday, March 24 at 6:00 p.m. at SIPS in Southwest Harbor. $35 per person. Mohawk band will be performing. Fr. Tim Fleck has tickets or reservations can be made at SIPS, 244-4550.

 

Hospice Volunteers of Hancock County invites you to their 20th Annual Charity Auction to benefit hospice and bereavement services in our community on Sunday, March 22, 1 – 3:30 (Silent auction 1:00 – 3:00 and Live Auction 3:00 – 3:30) at Darling’s Auto Mall in Ellsworth. Tickets are $25 at the door which includes a $250 gas card door prize and appetizers by Chipper’s Restaurant.

SUMMER FUN FUNDRAISER for Local Solutions Tuesday, March 24, 6PM at Sips.  Dinner and performance by the Mohawk Band, to raise money and enthusiasm for supportive housing for handicapped adults on MDI.  Fr. Tim has tickets for $35, or you can make your reservation directly with Sips at 244-4550.
