Gifts from the people of Maine: We have been blessed by the ministry of Bishop Knudsen and with hope and joy as we look forward to Bishop-Elect Lane’s episcopate. It is traditional to acknowledge these blessings with gifts. It is customary to have a portrait made of the retiring Bishop which will hang in the Cathedral Upper Hall. And, traditionally, the people of the Diocese present a new bishop with a Pectoral Cross.
