At St. John's

Out of Office:  Kathleen will be at CREDO from April 10-17. Michele will also be away from April 11-25. If you need assistance when both Kathleen and Michele are gone, please contact Gen MacKenzie.
 

Meditation on Tuesdays at 4:00 at St. John's. Please join us for 30 minutes of shared silence and "prayer of the heart," an ancient meditative practice of the Christian tradition. All are welcome! We meditate sitting on chairs, though if you prefer to sit on the floor, feel free to bring a mat or cushion. If you are new to meditation, have questions or concerns, or would like more information, please contact Mother Kathleen.

For all interested in General Convention

The Provincial Leadership Conference is offering a series of webinars as we move toward General Convention in July 2018. Members from Interim Bodies and task groups as well as those knowledgeable on the issues will present their resolutions in the Blue Book. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions. Details for each webinar will be sent closer to the time of the webinar. Stay tuned.

Web conversations will discuss key issues and resolutions with church leaders, 7:30 p.m.:

May 10 – Structure

June 14 – Creation

 

Dates to Save

Spring Training - a diocesan day of workshops for everyone - Saturday, April 28. Gather with Bishop Steve Lane and Episcopalians across the diocese for a day of learning, sharing, and growth. A church leader? A clergy person? Someone interested in spiritual growth or community outreach? With 20 workshops to choose from, you'll find what you're looking for. There's no cost for this event which will be held at South Parish Congregational Church in Augusta.

MDI Episcopal Churches:

Confidential Prayer Chain: Unlike our published prayer lists, prayer requests that come into the Prayer Chain remain private to the prayer chain itself, which will pray devotedly for one week unless an updated request is made. If you'd like to know more about this or our Pastoral Care Team, please contact our office administrators or Mother Kathleen.

 


Community:

Coffee's On! Tuesday, April 17, from 9:30-11:30.  Senior Coffee House is held at the MDI YWCA, 36 Mt. Desert Street, Bar Harbor. Bring a friend and enjoy the refreshments, music and simply catching up with friends while making some new ones. If you need transportation, please call Doreen Willett with Island Connections at 288-4457, or Joan at 244-3227.
 

The Alcyon Center is a place of contemplation and peace, offering a variety of programs including quiet days, a gathering of women to discuss various topics through poetry, personal experiences (Soul Friends), a monthly quiet day and a weekly study of the Gospel for the coming Sunday. The center is located in Seal Cove on MDI.  For more information please either email office@alcyoncenter.org or call 207.244.1060.

 
 

Westside Food Pantry:

 

The Pantry will be open on Sundays, April 8, from 12:00-2:00 p.m. and April 22 from 12:00-1:00 p.m.
