More calendar information at your fingertips!  The parish’s website at http://standrewstjohn.blogspot.com  now features an embedded google calendar. You can find a list of parish events and services on the left-hand side of every webpage, or select “calendar” in the menu under the church pictures to open a bigger view.  Click on an event to see more details.  Thank you, Michael Shook, for setting this up.

Pysanky (Ukrainian Colored Eggs): The ancient art of Pysanky predates Christianity, but we’ll ignore that and have a grand time leaning how to make wax-resist eggs in the undercroft of St. John’s Church on Saturday, March 20th. The workshop led by Ellen Gilmore, can accommodate about 10 people, and will run from 9:30am to noon. If there is sufficient interest, she will consider a second session on Sunday, March 21st, in the afternoon. You don’t need any special skills, although a steady hand helps! Because this craft involves lighted candles, raw eggs, and requires some patience, it is not well suited to children. Cost for the workshop is $15, with all proceeds going to the church. All materials are provided Please call or e-mail Ellen to sign up: 244-7338 or ellengilmore@myfairpoint.net

Kitchen News Flash!! The very small, informal team looking at "kitchen challenges" has been given permission from the Building Committee to move forward with gathering ideas for kitchen cleanup and changes. Please join us in the undercroft Sunday March 14th after the 10:00 service to share your thoughts and dreams and to sign up to volunteer with cleaning, painting etc. If you are unavailable at that time, but would like to participate please do not hesitate to contact Chloe Hatcher, Dianne McMullan or Ted Bromage.

Musca Sacra in Lent — Hear My Prayer:  Musca Sacra is the Chamber Choir at St. John’s Catholic Church in Bangor.  Under the direction of Kevin Birch, they will sing Romantic works for choir and organ at St. Savior’s on Sunday, March 14, at 7:00 p.m.  The program will include:

Johannes Brahms - Geistliches Lied, Op. 30
Josef Rhienberger - Mass in Eb, Op. 109 (excerpts) - Abendlied, Op. 69, No. 3
Felix Mendelssohn - Hear My Prayer with Stephanie Blanchard, soprano,
Organ Sonata in F Minor, Op. 65, No. 1
Charles Hubert Hastings Parry - Songs of Farewell (nos. 1 & 4)

A message from Bishop Stephen Lane:
The Diocese of Maine is beginning the work of transforming our life as the people of God in this place. To help us begin, I’ve appointed lay and clergy members from across the diocese to two groups: a Mission Priorities Study Group and Mission Strategy Study Group. If you would like to be involved you may fill out the Diocesan Mission Survey at www.surveymonkey.com/s/mission <http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/mission> or use the printed copies which are available in the back of the sanctuary.

The church office
will be closed until March 18th. If you have questions or need assistance please call Ted Fletcher (244-3115) or Ann Cox Halkett (288-5832).
