From the Wardens:
Two discussions were held for parish members to ask questions and give voice to their concerns. These were held on St. John's lawn. In total, 12 parishioners plus the two Wardens attended.

One of the topics discussed was in person worship services observing Covid19 protocols. Nearly everyone would consider outside services at St. John but not services in the sanctuary. One member suggested Morning Prayer with audio.

Even with the current limitations, we must keep in mind that there is "light at the end of the tunnel—God's light." We will eventually return to our sanctuary, even if the journey is unclear at this time.

MAIL FROM THE DIOCESE
Dear Gen, Ted, Tony, and Linda,
Hooray and thanks be to God!  We're ready to post the position for the Island, and should have it up and visible to the world by the middle of next week.
We will:
1. List the position on the Diocesan website
2. Flip the switch on each congregation's OTM to "receiving names," which makes it pop up in searches of the OTM database
3. Add it to the Transition Ministry Conference jobs board
and
4. Advertise it with Episcopal News Service (ENS), which will trigger the invitation to pay for a "featured" listing that we corresponded about earlier; I'll forward it to you when it comes, and it would be good if you'd decided among yourselves who will take care of dealing with and making payment to ENS (since I think you all agreed the cost was worth it).

[In addition, it would be great if you were able to update your parish web sites to include a link to the position description and to your own OTM; or alternatively, if that's complicated, a link to the diocesan web page for transitions where you will be listed.  That is
https://www.episcopalmaine.org/churches/search .  The ideal time for that update would be Wednesday or Thursday of next week.]

Once the position is listed, all the OTMs and the shared position description will be public for all to see.  So, I'm adding the whole lot to this email as a chance for final review if anyone wants...I really think and trust we're ready, but if there's something you think it's crucial to address, give a shout.  I'll assume that if I don't hear such a shout, that we are indeed ready to roll.  Hallelujah!

Faithfully,
The Rev. Canon Michael N. Ambler Jr.
