From the Diocese of Maine{Diocese of Maine}

As a Parish of the Diocese of Maine, we are part of a church family that extends from Kittery to Fort Kent, and connects us to the rest of the Episcopal Church and the worldwide Anglican Communion.  We share ministry with our Bishop and with every worshipping community.
If you are not subscribed to the Diocesan twice monthly email newsletter, the DioLog, please click [here] to subscribe.  If you are subscribed, don't forget to open it and read it every time!  There is a lot going on in every corner of the Diocese, and you wouldn't want to miss anything!

MDI Episcopal Churches:

Confidential Prayer Chain: Unlike our published prayer lists, prayer requests that come into the Prayer Chain remain private to the prayer chain itself, which will pray devotedly for one week unless an updated request is made. If you'd like to know more about this or our Pastoral Care Team, please contact our office administrators or Mother Kathleen.

St. Saviour:

August 10 – Adam Peithmann

Church of Our Father:

Our Thrift Shop will be open on Saturdays from 9-12 and Wednesdays from 3:30 to 6 pm.

St. Mary & St. Jude:

Join us for a Mountain Top Experience on Monday, August 6 at 4:00 p.m. Did you know that Dr. William Reed Huntington, one of the early supporters of this parish, composed the prayer book's collect for the Feast of the Transfiguration right here on MDI? He climbed Sargent Mountain for inspiration. We invite you to celebrate this history and the Feast of the Transfiguration with a hike up the more moderate Gorham Mountain. At the top, we'll spend some time in prayer and exploration of mountain top spirituality. This is a great church event for kids! We'll meet in the Gorham parking lot at the base of the trail at 4:00 p.m. Please wear appropriate hiking gear and don't forget your water, snacks, sunblock, and bug spray! If enough people are interested, we can grab dinner together afterwards.

Men's Bible Study Group: Tuesday, August 14 from 1-3 pm at St. Mary's Chapel Parish Hall.

Community:

The Alcyon Center is a place of contemplation and peace, offering a variety of programs including quiet days, a gathering of women to discuss various topics through poetry, personal experiences (Soul Friends), a monthly quiet day and a weekly study of the Gospel for the coming Sunday.
