At St. John's
Quietside Festival is coming up on July 14. Please bring your Baskets and Silent Auction items to the office by Tuesday so they can be readied for the festival. Bring pies and other baked goods next. Tents and tables will be put in place on Thursday around 4:00. Any and all hands are welcome to help with this task. And remember you can march in the Flamingo Parade with the St. John Samba Band behind our first ever float! Practice is 3:30-4:30 pm the next two Thursdays at St. John's.
Confirmation Class will be held on Tuesdays, starting July 10th, 2:30-3:30 in the Common Room. We will be exploring the book Episcopal Questions, Episcopal Answers, Exploring Christian Faith. All are invited to join in the conversation. See Mother Kathleen for more information.
Meditation on Tuesdays at 4:00 at St. John's.Please join us for 30 minutes of shared silence and "prayer of the heart," an ancient meditative practice of the Christian tradition. All are welcome! We meditate sitting on chairs, though if you prefer to sit on the floor, feel free to bring a mat or cushion. If you are new to meditation, have questions or concerns, or would like more information, please contact Mother Kathleen.

Confidential Prayer Chain: Unlike our published prayer lists, prayer requests that come into the Prayer Chain remain private to the prayer chain itself, which will pray devotedly for one week unless an updated request is made. St. Mary & St. Jude:
Puerto Rico Service Project – The Parish of St. Mary and St. Jude is making plans to lead an island-wide service trip to Puerto Rico to assist with Hurricane Maria recovery. The trip will include people of all ages and skill levels, and summer/shoulder parishioners are welcome to travel from home and join the team in Puerto Rico. The trip will take place next Fall/Winter, 2018/19. If you are interested in helping to plan and organize the project, please call or email Jane Cornman at firstname.lastname@example.org
The Alcyon Center is a place of contemplation and peace, offering a variety of programs including quiet days, a gathering of women to discuss various topics through poetry, personal experiences (Soul Friends), a monthly quiet day and a weekly study of the Gospel for the coming Sunday.
