At St. John's

Meditation on Tuesdays at 4:00 at St. John's. Please join us for 30 minutes of shared silence and "prayer of the heart," an ancient meditative practice of the Christian tradition. All are welcome! We meditate sitting on chairs, though if you prefer to sit on the floor, feel free to bring a mat or cushion. If you are new to meditation, have questions or concerns, or would like more information, please contact Mother Kathleen.

at St. John and St. Saviour:

Confidential Prayer Chain: Unlike our published prayer lists, prayer requests that come into the Prayer Chain remain private to the prayer chain itself, which will pray devotedly for one week unless an updated request is made. If you'd like to know more about this or our Pastoral Care Team, please contact our office administrators or Mother Kathleen.

Community:

Coffee's On! The first and third Tuesday of the month (February 6 and 20), 9:30-11:30. Senior Coffee House is being held at the MDI YWCA, 36 Mt. Desert Street, Bar Harbor. Bring a friend and enjoy coffee, tea, snacks, and simply catching up with friends while making some new ones. If you need transportation, please call Doreen Willett with Island Connections at 288-4457.

Westside Food Pantry:

The Pantry will be open on Sunday, February 4, from 12:00-2:00 p.m.

First Benefit Recital for 2018: Over 60 people braved the driving rain to hear Peter Broderick's outstanding performance on January 23 for the first 2018 Food Pantry Recital.  Peter is an exceptional musician, composer and arranger. Peter played and sang pieces on the piano, guitar and violin and bathed us with his warmth, humor and graciousness.   Peter's sang several songs by Arthur Russell, who was Kate Russell Henry's brother and Tom Lee's partner. Arthur died in 1992 from AIDS. For his last song, Peter was accompanied by Kate's son, percussionist, Beau Lisy. Following the performance, Kate, Tom and their family and friends hosted a lovely reception in the undercroft. This was a very special evening. And $842 was donated for our food pantry!  We are very grateful.
