Annual Meeting, Part One

Sunday, January 11, 2015:

At an official Parish Meeting on August 25, we passed two resolutions amending our Bylaws to move our Annual Parish Meeting from January to June, to allow seasonal members voting rights at that meeting, and to allow seasonal Vestry members voting rights on the Vestry.  Since any change to the Bylaws requires passage by a majority of those present at two successive Parish Meetings, we will take these resolutions up again at our regularly scheduled Parish Meeting on January 11, 2015, immediately following the 9:00 service.  After hearing reports on ministries and on the budget, we will vote on these two resolutions.  If the change of date passes, the plan is immediately to place the meeting into recess until June of 2015, when we will reconvene for Part Two of the Annual Meeting, when we will conduct elections and all other business.  That means that those folks whose terms as vestry, wardens, clerk and treasurer will “stretch” until June (terms do not end until the close of the Annual Meeting).  Make sense?

St. John’s and St. Saviour’s:

Advent Discussion Series: The O Antiphons

Tim, Jenny, and Vesta will finish the discussions of the seven ancient titles for the coming Messiah which have been sung as antiphons to the Song of Mary at Evening Prayer in Advent since at least the sixth century.  Explorations of these questions will be during Forum time (9:00-9:45) at St. John, and after the 10:00 service (11:30-12:15) in the Parish Hall at St. Saviour, and will be led by the priest celebrant at each church.

St. Saviour’s:

Christmas Dinner! St. Saviour’s second annual Christmas dinner will be held in the Rectory Common dining room on December 25 beginning at 12:30 pm.  Please come and join us if you don’t have other arrangements. Ham and baked potatoes will be provided and the rest is "pot luck". Please RSVP to Linda Foster at linda@foster.net or at 288-2720, if you are planning to come. You can then discuss what "pot" you might bring.
