St. John:

Christmas Day Brunch: Thanks go to all the volunteers who cleaned floors, set up tables and chairs (and took them down), decorated, baked, cooked, cut up fruit, and washed dishes. About 35 people were served a delicious meal and Bob Theriault led the group in singing several Christmas songs. It was indeed a “Merry Christmas.”

Calendar:

Saturday, January 4 – 6:30 pm, recital to benefit Food Pantry

Sundays, January 5 and 19 – 12:00 noon, Westside Food Pantry at Harbor House

January 6-17 – Sacristy will be painted

Mondays, January 13 and 27 – 5:00 p.m., St. John Singers

Mark Your Calendars: Fiddle player Emma Walsh and mandolin player Pepin Mittlehauser will perform for the Westside Food Pantry, Saturday evening, January 4th at 6:30pm.  Suggested donation - $10.00.  The recital will be preceded by a community covered dish dinner and followed by a reception. ALL proceeds go directly to the Westside Food Pantry.  For more information about the performance or the Westside Food Pantry contact Susan Buell, 669-5482.

Christmas Fair: Thanks to all who donated items to be sold at the Christmas Fair. Including the wreaths and the fair items we raised about $1400 (less wreath expenses). The items that did not sell are packed in boxes and are in the undercroft closet. If you donated anything and would like it back, please pick it up.

St. Saviour’s

Book Study -- The Education for Ministry group is inviting anyone who is interested to join them on Tuesdays, January 14 and 21 from 4:30 - 7:00 p.m. to discuss two supplemental texts: Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth by Reza Aslan; and And God Spoke: The Authority of the Bible for the Church Today by Christopher Bryan. Books can be obtained from the bookstore or library.  If there is sufficient interest, we may be able to order some copies for individuals or for sharing if you are willing to help pay for them.  Please let Sarah Flynn (sarahbf@myfairpoint.net) at St. Saviour's or Jayne Ashworth (jayne.ashworth@gmail.com) at St. Andrew & St. John know if you would like to pursue this approach to obtaining a copy of the books or if you have questions.

Church of Our Father

Holy Eucharist is celebrated on Wednesday mornings at 8:00 followed by a light breakfast.
