A Day with Martin Smith – The Episcopal Committee on the Spirituality of Aging invites you to attend a day of reflection at St. Mark’s in Waterville, on Saturday, April 24th led by Martin L. Smith. He will speak on Wisdom’s Invitation: Imagination, Intimacy and Mystery. He will explore how we can be imaginative, close to God, and open-hearted as we negotiate the risks of “closing up” as we age. Insights will be offered about how God’s grace enables us to trust Wisdom’s invitation of renewed life. The program begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. The cost is $10 including lunch. Spring Writing Workshop: Saturday, April 24, 9:30-4:00 at The Whole Health Center in Town Hill. This is an opportunity to gather together and explore the many ways in which our writing can enable the “vast realms of consciousness still undreamed of” within us.Cost is $65. Organic Gardening without Money: Experienced or new gardeners welcome. Come learn tried and true techniques in this informal and informative workshop by John Whight. A self proclaimed “botanist” at heart, John has 37+ years of energy and gardening knowledge. John can show you how to use materials readily available for free to grow spectacular flowers and vegetables organically. Innovative and inspiring. Saturday, May 1st from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at St. John Episcopal Church in Southwest Harbor. Sponsored by the Southwest Harbor Waste Prevention Committee. Compassion, Integration and Healing – and the Tibetan Practice of Tonglen: Paul Weiss will conduct a workshop on Saturday, May 1, 9:30-4:00 at the Whole Health Center in Bar Harbor. Cost is $85. Clean-Up Day: Bring your rakes, cleaners, rags, etc. on Saturday, May 1st when we’ll have our Spring clean up day at St. John’s, the Dolliver House, and the Sawyer House. Then on Saturday, May 22nd, we’ll prepare St. Andrew’s for summer worship.

 

Healthy Life Café – Meals on Wheels Indoor Yard Sale Fundraiser. Saturday, May 15 from 8:00 to 10:30 am at Malvern Belmont Estates, 80 Mt. Desert Street, Bar Harbor. All funds raised will go to the Senior Meals Program!
