Text Box: IN-GATHERING THIS SUNDAY
The parish of St. Andrew & St. John cordially invite you and your family to celebrate the In-gathering of Pledges for 2010 tomorrow (November 15th) at a brunch following the 8:00 a.m. service.

This Sunday, November 15th, we welcome Emily Blair Stribling as our celebrant. She is a poet, teacher, lay preacher, retreat leader, and recipient of the American Book Award. Emily has served as Poet-In-Residence at Wesley Theological Seminary, led programs at the Washington National Cathedral, served as lay pastoral associate at St. John’s Norwood Parish, and her poems have appeared in many magazines and anthologies. Recently retired, Emily and her husband Robert now live in Brooklin, Maine.

Diaper Drive for St. Elizabeth’s Essentials Pantry: November 22nd. Glad to be out of the stage of life where you have to deal with diapers? Smack in the middle of the stage of life when expensive diapers are a daily necessity? Either way, show your gratefulness on the Sunday prior to Thanksgiving by collecting diapers for the many families with kids in diapers who depend on St. Elizabeth’s Essential Pantry. Monetary contributions may also be made to St. John with the notation St. Elizabeth Diaper Day. Diapers may be dropped off at the back of the church. Joan and Ted will see they are transported to Portland.

FOOD PANTRY NEEDS for THANKSGIVING DINNERS

Canned Goods: cranberry sauce, gravy, yellow or green vegetables, yams or sweet potatoes, olives, pickles, pineapple

Boxed or Bagged: biscuit mix, stuffing, sweet bread mix

This year they will feature small original watercolor designs on the envelopes. Cards may be purchased at the church office or by calling Cass Wright at 244-5459.

St. John’s second Christmas fair is coming up November 28th from 8 AM to 2 PM.  There will be crafts, food and wreaths for sale.  Mary Mitchell needs volunteers to contribute crafts, make wreaths and bake for the sale; she also needs help the day of the sale. Please call Mary at 244-9951 if you have questions or can help out in any way. Tables are available to rent on November 28 if you would like to sell your own goods.  The rental fee is $25.00.
