Weekly News from the MDI Episcopal Partnership!   And:::: We have Lift-Off! Worship at 9 AM at St. John's followed by coffee and conversation? It's the new normal! (except for March 2nd....see below!) Welcome to the Reverend Lynn Rutledge who is preaching and celebrating this week at St. John's and St. Saviour's while Cricket is enjoying some vacation time. The Wait is OVER! We have invited Ginny Yttrup* to join the Partnership as Parish Administrator! YAY!!!! Ginny will begin with a 3-month "introduction" as she and we hopefully find the job a perfect fit for us all! Beginning the week of Feb 10th, Ginny will be with us 4 days/week, with 2 dedicated days for each parish. We will publicize those days as soon as Office Hours are settled on. PLEASE give her a hearty MDI welcome! *say "Why-trup" Read Ginny's brief bio here, then come meet her in person!   Canoeing the Mountains conversation meets this week, on Feb 13th. We will also determine how many more meetings we'll need to wrap up... for now!   Bishop Budde's reminder that God calls us to be merciful took the country by storm. Many parishioners have asked for a book group to feature her book, "How We Learn to be Brave" Steve Muncie and Cricket are planning a Zoom book discussion... Time&Date TBA! Consider the e-book version or the audiobook, read by Bp. Budde herself, or there is financial aid available for those wishing to purchase the hardback or paperback versions.   You've heard about it... You've wondered about it... It's LAUGHTER YOGA! Tuesdays @noon, SWHarbor Wednesdays @noon, Bar Harbor for the rest of February If you smile at me I will understand, 'cause that is something everybody everywhere does in the same language. ~Crosby, Still, Nash, & Young Seriously... don't you need a good laugh? Looking forward to Lent...??? You will be once you get hooked on Lent Madness! It's Educational! Competitive! Hilarious! The format is straightforward: 32 saints are placed into a tournament-like single elimination bracket. Each pairing remains open for a set period of time and people vote for their favorite saint. 16 saints make it to the Round of the Saintly Sixteen; eight advance to the Round of the Elate Eight; four make it to the Faithful Four; two to the Championship; and the winner is awarded the coveted Golden Halo. You can sign up on their blog now, and you'll receive your daily reminder of the Saints competing that day, and the button to cast YOUR vote! BREAKING NEWS:::: St Saviour's and St John's will both have BRACKETS POSTED to follow along with the season. Lent Madness Blog Subscribe!   It's a good time to remember the Bar Harbor Food Pantry! What to donate: Consider donating items we are not always able to purchase, such as: Household cleaners Coffee and tea Pet food Condiments, dressings, and spices Baking items Hygiene and personal care items Gluten-free items Other non-food items we are happy to receive are egg cartons (to repackage bulk eggs) and reusable grocery bags for customers to use in the pantry. We cannot accept donations that are expired, opened, or unlabeled March 2nd is Dimanche Gras! (Fat Sunday?) Open House at THE RECTORY ~ Let's put the PARTY in the PARTNERSHIP! SASJ & SSP will worship together at 11am at St. Saviour's, and then we'll Laissez les bon temps rouler!
